The annual output of ethylene broke 1.2 million tons for the first time!

On November 11th, Guangdong Petrochemical Company's ethylene production exceeded 1.2 million tons this year, reaching the design scale 50 days ahead of schedule, which provided a guarantee for Guangdong Petrochemical's refining and chemical integration project to reach the standard and reach the output quickly after it was put into production.

Guangdong Petrochemical Company continued to implement the five articles of "Safety, Stability, Length, Full Capacity and Excellent Quality", and made great efforts in meeting the standards and reaching production, safety and environmental protection, energy saving and consumption reduction, in-depth optimization and tackling difficulties. In-depth industry benchmarking was carried out, and the operation was optimized and improved. The operation of the plant became more stable and efficient, and various indicators of production and operation achieved good results. The highest ethylene yield in a single month exceeded 43%, and the lowest energy consumption in a single month was 511 kg standard oil/ton, which was the best of its kind in China. Continue to tackle key technical problems, optimize the structure of ethylene raw materials, increase ethane content in ethane-rich gas, reduce C5 and C6 components, and reduce isobutane content in LPG. Refined operations were carried out in each distillation column, and the annual cumulative yield of ethylene products reached over 40%, and the yield of diene reached over 57%, which reached the leading level in similar devices with traditional ethylene raw materials. Firmly establish the red line awareness and bottom line thinking of safety and environmental protection, and the management personnel should pay attention to the implementation of the system and the operators should pay attention to the implementation of measures. In October this year, Guangdong Petrochemical was rated as the "leader" benchmark unit of energy efficiency by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.

In the process of optimizing the management of the whole production process, Guangdong Petrochemical Company sorted out the operation bottlenecks of the third ethylene unit and the three major pumps, and controlled them according to the maximum economic benefit through careful operation. According to the experience, the management and control scheme of butadiene plant under full load is summarized and compiled to ensure the stable product quality under high load. By organizing the technical transformation of E4009 heat exchanger in styrene plant, the problem of water carrying in styrene products was solved and the high-load production of the plant was realized. At present, the ethylene plant has started the full-load operation mode of 8 furnaces, and the maximum daily ethylene production exceeds 4000 tons.

The 1.2 million tons/year ethylene put into production in February 2023 is the largest domestic ethylene plant at present, and it is also one of the profit growth points of Guangdong Petrochemical. Up to now, the cumulative production of ethylene has exceeded 2.2 million tons.
