21:57 on August 30th, the 600000 t / an ethane-to-ethylene plant of PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim, located at the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain, produced qualified ethylene products. This marks the successful start-up of PetroChina's largest refining and chemical project in southern Xinjiang since the Tarim Oil Battle in 1989, and the annual ethylene production capacity of Dushanzi Petrochemical Company has reached a new level of 2 million tons.

Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim ethane to ethylene project is a key project of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region and PetroChina. It is a political project for PetroChina to implement the Party's strategy for governing Xinjiang in the new era and the spirit of previous central symposiums on Xinjiang work, and to promote industrial assistance to Xinjiang. It is also a benefit project for the transformation and upgrading of PetroChina's refining and chemical business, and an innovative project to achieve scientific and technological self-reliance. It is listed as the national demonstration project of ethane cracking to ethylene by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The whole project highlights green and low carbon, and adopts new cutting-edge technologies in the world, such as flue gas denitrification, high-temperature wet oxidation, ultrafiltration + reverse osmosis and evaporative crystallization. Nitrogen oxide emissions are 70% lower than the existing general-purpose ethylene plants, far lower than the national emission limit, and the wastewater reuse rate is more than 95%, reaching near zero discharge.

Tarim ethane to ethylene project makes full use of big data, cloud computing and other advanced information technology, integrates the advantages of communication and mobile platform, and becomes an "intelligent chemical plant" integrating production scheduling, electromechanical instrument management and emergency command.

In order to ensure a successful start-up of the unit, Dushanzi Sinopec assigned 95 backbones to intervene in the pre-commissioning and commissioning work in advance to make full preparations for production, technology and personnel, and strictly carry out the operation plan during the start-up period, steady and steady, and confirm step by step. It took only 44 days for the project to be delivered, and it took only 11 hours from feeding to producing qualified products, and the torch had nearly zero emission during the whole process of construction, realizing "zero accident, zero injury, zero pollution and zero leakage" green, high-efficiency and high-quality construction, creating a new record for the construction period, safety performance and start-up efficiency of similar equipment in China.

Dr. Wu Liping, Deputy Chief engineer of Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, said: "Ethylene industry is the core of petrochemical industry, and ethylene output is usually one of the important indicators to measure the development level of a country's petrochemical industry." Compared with oil refining and chemical fertilizer, ethylene plant is more complex and more difficult to operate, and its complexity is second only to nuclear power. Ethylene is one of the basic raw materials of petrochemical industry, which is widely used. The full-density polyethylene and high-density polyethylene produced by the Tarim ethane-to-ethylene project is a kind of thermoplastic resin with high crystallinity and non-polarity, and the downstream products cover pipe, high-strength film, injection molding, wiredrawing and other fields. we usually common packaging boxes, plastic pots, all kinds of pipes, film, yogurt boxes, etc., are produced with polyethylene products as raw materials. At present, the thin film material developed by our company accounts for 80% of the market in Xinjiang. In winter, most families use ground heating, and the ground heating pipes produced by our company's pipe materials have a service life of up to 50 years.
