From January to July this year, the output of ethylene propylene rubber in Jilin Petrochemical Company reached 38,159 tons, an increase of 1,894 tons year-on-year.


Jilin Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is the only enterprise in China that has its own technology and independently manages the industrialized ethylene-propylene rubber plant. It has been 26 years since the ethylene-propylene rubber plant was completed and put into operation, with a production capacity of 85,000 tons/year, ranking second in China. Under the condition that the output of domestic ethylene-propylene rubber production enterprises has not decreased, the ethylene-propylene rubber market has been seriously oversupplied due to the massive import of ethylene-propylene rubber from abroad. Faced with the double impacts of sluggish demand for ethylene-propylene rubber products and the impact of low-priced imported goods, Jilin Petrochemical adhered to market orientation and made decisive measures to continuously increase production and sales of high-end differentiated ethylene-propylene rubber new products by optimizing production scheduling and R&D innovation.


Jilin Petrochemical Organic Synthesis Plant revolves around the long-term and high-load stable operation of ethylene-propylene rubber plant, and carries out key operational problems one by one. While optimizing the production process parameters such as temperature and pressure, measures such as improving catalytic efficiency and adjusting circulation amount were taken to alleviate the problems of large catalyst residue and high volatile matter. Formulate a three-level management mode of "strict supervision of factories, strengthening organization in workshops, and paying attention to implementation by teams and groups" to ensure load increase, stable operation and increased output with production planning, efficient organization and normative implementation. What are the characteristics of ethylene propylene rubber?


Ethylene propylene rubber is a synthetic rubber with ethylene and propylene as main monomers. Because its main chain is saturated, ethylene-propylene rubber has excellent aging resistance such as ozone resistance, heat resistance and weather resistance, and has good chemical resistance, electrical insulation, impact elasticity, low temperature performance, low density and high filling property.


How to classify ethylene propylene rubber?


According to the different monomer composition in the molecular chain, there are two kinds of EPDM. The former is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene, and the latter is a copolymer of ethylene, propylene and a small amount of non-conjugated dienes. According to the third monomer, it is further divided into ethylidene norbornene (ENB), dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) and 1,4- hexadiene (HD), and the sequence composition belongs to methylene type (-CH2-) structure.
