Chlorinated polyethylene can be divided into three types A, B and C according to their uses.Type A material is mainly used as toughening agent to modify hard PVC, which has been successfully developed by Daqing Petrochemical Company. Type B material, also known as rubber-type chlorinated polyethylene, is a new type of special rubber with environmental protection.Compared with other rubber, type B material has better cold resistance, aging resistance, ozone resistance, oil resistance and flame retardancy. It is mainly used in the manufacture of wires and cables, rubber hoses, conveyor belts, rubber dams, special tires, elevator handrails and so on. B-type chlorinated polyethylene is an ideal substitute for rubber and an elastomer with wide application prospects.

The raw material for the production of chlorinated polyethylene is high-density polyethylene powder. The annual demand of type B powder is nearly 100000 tons, and the price is 500 to 800 yuan higher than that of general resin per ton. The material requires that the particles of the special resin show the shape of a ball, the particle size is small, and the particle size distribution is narrow, and the molecular weight and its distribution are moderate. The production of special resin is difficult, which leads to fewer brands of special resin in the market, and the output is far from meeting the market demand. at present, the B-type materials needed in the domestic market are mainly imported products.
