Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-crystalline polyolefin valued for its stiffness-to-weight ratio, chemical resistance, fatigue endurance (living hinges) and high processing efficiency across injection, film, blow molding, thermoforming, fiber and nonwovens. Our portfolio spans Homopolymer (PP-H), Random Copolymer (PP-R) and Impact/Block Copolymer (PP-B) to serve rigid & flexible packaging, automotive, appliances, healthcare, hygiene, textiles, construction and industrial markets.
Lightweight & efficient: low density (~0.90 g/cm³, grade-specific) enables part light-weighting and energy savings in conversion.
Tunable performance: select from PP-H / PP-R / PP-B and leverage nucleation/clarification to balance stiffness, impact, clarity and cycle time.
Process versatility: easy-to-process grades for injection molding, blow molding, sheet/film & thermoforming.
Moisture & chemical resistance: suits containers, closures and technical parts; broad electrical insulation benefits in appliances/electrical (grade-specific).
PP-H (Homopolymer): high stiffness, good heat resistance, excellent hinge/fatigue—used in thin-wall packaging, caps/closures, film (incl. BOPP/CPP).
PP-R (Random Copolymer): ethylene-randomized for clarity, sealability and low-temperature ductility—used in clear containers, film seal layers and selected pipe systems (PP-R/PP-RCT).
PP-B (Impact/Block Copolymer): rubber-modified for impact—especially at low temperature—used in automotive, appliances, crates/pails, technical housings.
What it is: PP-H tailored for tape yarn (flat yarn) used to weave FIBCs/bulk bags, woven sacks, carpet backing, ropes and tarpaulins.
Why it matters: optimized spinability, strength/tenacity and processing stability for high-speed tape lines (stretching from primary films).
Scope: PP grades for BOPP/CPP/cast or blown film targeting optics, gloss, seal initiation temperature (SIT), stiffness and down-gauging; PP-R often used for clarity/seal layers.
Use cases: label/overwrap films, lamination webs, pouches.
Scope: PP-H, PP-B and clarified PP-R with tailored MFR for thin-wall filling, dimensional stability and impact.
Use cases: caps/closures, housewares, pails/crates, appliance parts, automotive clips/bezels; nucleated/clarified options for high transparency.
Scope: PP for filament yarn, staple fibers, spunbond/meltblown nonwovens—prioritizing spinnability, uniform denier, softness/loft and bonding.
Use cases: woven fabrics/carpets, hygiene & medical nonwovens (diapers, wipes, filtration).
Random vs. Block:
Random Copolymer: clarity & sealability for thin-wall packaging and films.
Block/Impact Copolymer: high impact for durable goods/automotive while keeping productivity.
What it is: PP-R specifically engineered for hot & cold water pipes, fittings and HVAC systems; PP-RCT enhances temperature/pressure resistance.
Benefits: long-term hydrostatic strength, chemical resistance, sound dampening; used in plumbing, district heating, drainage (system-dependent).
What it is: rubber-modified PP-B grades for low-temperature impact, dimensional stability and toughness in large/structural parts.
Use cases: automotive interior/exterior, appliance housings, crates/pails, battery cases; many grades are nucleated to balance stiffness and flow.
What it is: clarified PP—commonly random copolymer with advanced nucleation/clarifiers—delivering high transparency, gloss and low warpage for premium packaging.
Use cases: clear thin-wall containers, lids, housewares, display packaging.
What it is: medical-use PP grades and healthcare-oriented PP solutions with low extractables, sterilization compatibility (EtO, gamma, e-beam) and clean processing; documentation is grade-specific.
Use cases: syringes/components, IV & solution bottles, caps/closures, labware, sterile barrier films/nonwovens.
MFR (Melt Flow Rate): higher MFR aids thin-wall filling & cycle time; lower MFR supports toughness and structural parts. Validate on your tool/line.
Stiffness vs. Impact: PP-H for stiffness/heat; PP-B for impact (cold-chain/automotive); PP-R for clarity/seals & low-temp ductility.
Optics & Sealing: clarified PP-R for transparency and controlled seal initiation temperature in films/containers.
Pipe Performance: PP-R/PP-RCT for hot-&-cold water systems; data sheets define long-term pressure ratings and installation guidance.
Select applications can integrate rPP (recycled PP) or bio-attributed/renewable content grades; design-for-recycling strategies available by structure and region. (Performance and compliance remain grade-specific.)
