On September 8th, the reporter learned from No.2 Polyolefin Department of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company that the medical materials produced by Lanzhou Petrochemical Company are favored by large domestic pharmaceutical enterprises because of their excellent performance under the increasingly fierce competition in the medical polyolefin market. In the first eight months of this year, the output of medical polyolefin RP260 and LD26D in Lanzhou Petrochemical Company reached more than 50,000 tons, which well met the market demand.

Medical polyolefin is widely used in the medical field because of its safety and non-toxicity, and the demand for medical polyolefin special materials is increasing in domestic pharmaceutical enterprises. The production of medical polyolefin is highly professional, and the "threshold" of technical and quality standards is high. Previously, the global production of medical polyolefin was mainly concentrated in Europe, North America, Japan and South Korea. Domestic pharmaceutical packaging materials enterprises mostly rely on imports.

In order to change the situation that medical polyolefins depend on imports, Lanzhou Petrochemical Company and Southwest Chemical Company, Sichuan Kelun Pharmaceutical Company and Chengdu Jianzhuo Company formed a "consortium" for production and marketing, and jointly developed new products of medical polyolefins RP260 and LD26D. Polypropylene special material RP260 can be used in vertical infusion bags, which has the advantages of low dissolved matter content, high cleanliness and wide processing window. Large domestic pharmaceutical enterprises have sent order information to Lanzhou Petrochemical, gradually reducing the purchase of similar polypropylene medical materials from abroad. RP260, a special polypropylene material, has become the "darling" of the market since it came out. It has successively won the first prize of the Group Company's Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Gansu Science and Technology Progress Award, the silver prize of the 24th National Invention Expo, the China Petrochemical New Product Award and the title of "Gansu Good Brand".

Lanzhou Petrochemical continues to develop new materials and products with high efficiency, precise positioning, new varieties, excellent quality and special performance. Through years of technical research, it has formed a series of new chemical materials such as medical polyolefin, automotive polyolefin, cable material, electronic protective film, metallocene polyolefin, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, C5 hydrogenated petroleum resin and nitrile rubber, and the proportion of new material development and product output have increased year by year.
