China Petroleum successfully produced 80A microcrystalline wax for the first time!

On April 27th, Fushun Petrochemical Company successfully produced 80A microcrystalline wax for the first time through many process optimization. After analysis and inspection, all the indexes have reached the industry standard, and a new breakthrough in high value-added paraffin production has been realized. This marks the first successful production of 80A microcrystalline wax by China Petroleum, which fills another blank of microcrystalline wax category.

Paraffin wax is one of the important petroleum products, which is widely used in light industry, chemical industry, daily chemistry, agriculture, food, medical treatment and other industries. Fushun Petrochemical Company, relying on years of technology, talent reserve and the resource advantages of Daqing crude oil with high wax content, has been continuously exploring the chain extension and chain repair of paraffin products, and has made great efforts to make paraffin wax fully refined and base oil of special lubricating oil, and to build a world-class production base for paraffin wax and lubricating oil. Microcrystalline wax is a high-end product in paraffin products, which has long relied on imports. Fushun Petrochemical Company produced 80B microcrystalline wax in December 2023, which filled the gap of domestic high-end products.

Since the beginning of this year, Fushun Petrochemical Co., Ltd. has improved the stability of raw material quality by building a co-production model of oil and wax, optimizing operating conditions, strengthening process management and conducting repeated experiments and demonstrations. By optimizing the production process, strengthening the management and control of the production process, and accurately controlling the technical indexes such as oil content, color and kinematic viscosity of the products, the company optimized the hydrogenation catalyst suitable for producing 80A microcrystalline wax, ensuring that the product quality qualified rate reached 100%. At the same time, it overcomes the difficulties such as the difficulty of device transformation and the great temperature change in winter and spring, and successfully produces 80A microcrystalline wax new material with high melting point, excellent lubricity and chemical stability for the first time, and realizes the quality leap from 80B to 80A microcrystalline wax.
