At 10: 40 on September 9, with the successful production of HPR-3518CB metallocene polyethylene products in the 800,000-ton/year full-density polyethylene plant of Guangdong Petrochemical Company, it marked a major technological breakthrough after the smooth production of titanium-based and chromium-based catalyst series products.

Metallocene polyethylene has the advantages of good transparency, high heat sealing strength, excellent tensile and impact properties and strong puncture resistance, which is favored by downstream enterprises and is a hot commodity in high-end polyolefin products. China's metallocene polyethylene products have long been mainly imported from abroad.

In recent years, China Petroleum attaches great importance to the research and development of metallocene polyolefin products. The products developed by Guangdong Petrochemical Company this time are metallocene high-performance films, which are widely used in heavy packaging films, food packaging, all kinds of soft packaging, stretch winding films, medical and health fields.

In order to ensure the smooth product development, Guangdong Petrochemical Company specially set up a research team for the development of new metallocene polyethylene products, which made overall arrangements from the aspects of raw material preparation, plant operation status evaluation, production technical scheme, laboratory analysis, personnel training, production and marketing combination, etc., and made great efforts for the development of metallocene products. In the final stage of production preparation, Guangdong Petrochemical Company overcame the adverse effects of rainy typhoon season, and began to carry out five-day minor repairs on the full-density polyethylene plant on September 3, which cleared the way for the start-up of metallocene products.

The full-density polyethylene plant of Guangdong Petrochemical Company started for the first time in mid-February this year. The successful development of metallocene polyethylene products has added new members to the series of products of this device. At present, the products cover titanium film materials, plastic injection materials, chromium film materials, small hollow materials, metallocene film materials, etc., among which titanium products and chromium products have produced 220,000 tons and 127,000 tons respectively as of August 31st.
